Bath Community Hospital Skilled Care is for patients who need skilled nursing care and rehabilitation after a hospitalization for an illness or surgery. After a three day inpatient stay, your doctor may require the patient to recuperate in a skilled care environment.

• Physical Therapy: 2 times daily; Monday - Friday and 1 time daily on weekends
• Occupational Therapy: Monday - Friday
• Respiratory Therapy: Available daily.
• Ambulance Transport Service: We transport patients to and from other health care facilities.
• Close to home: Near family and friends with open visiting hours. Patients may bring items from home.
• Day passes to visit home with doctor’s permission.
• Ministerial Support.
• Activities of Daily Living: We help the patient maintain a normal lifestyle.
• Weekly Activities.

Criteria for Patients

• Minimum 3 midnight stays in an acute care facility (no observation days)
• Medical necessity for daily skilled-care.
• Discharge plan to return home.
• Accepting doctor on BCH staff
• Days 1 - 20 covered at 100%
• Days 21 – 100 covered at 80% (co-insurance or patient pays remaining 20%)
