Physical Therapists:
Sharon Justice, DPT and Director of Rehabilitation Services
Sharon Justice received her undergraduate degree in Physical Therapy from West Virginia University in 1975 and her doctoral degree in physical therapy from Boston University in 2006.
For the past ten years, Sharon has been the physical therapy department manager at Bath Community Hospital. She brings to this position 30 years of experience from a wide variety of clinical settings including pediatrics, home health, inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient ambulatory services. This diverse background has provided a framework for meeting the wide-ranging needs of a rural health care setting. In support of the Bath Community Hospital’s mission to provide community out reach programs, Sharon was been involved in the conception and planning of the Bath Community Rehab & Wellness Center.
In response to a need to improve the health of the community, Sharon participates in health promotion activities such as the Bath County Triathlon planning committee, health fairs for businesses in the community, work place ergonomic consultation, women’s hiking and skiing workshops and as a volunteer in the adaptive skiing program for Challenged Athletes.
Steve Curtian, PT, MEd., SCSC
Steve is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a BS in Physical Therapy. He received his Masters of Education in Strength and conditioning from the University of Virginia in 1989. While studying at UVA, Steve worked with NCAA student athletes from a variety of sports. He later went on to work with both the UVA and James Madison University Golf Teams while in private practice in Charlottesville, VA. He is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. As an employee of the Bath Community Hospital Physical Therapy Department for the past the 5 years, Steve has been instrumental in staff training, development of student athlete training programs, as well as the senior citizen’s group exercise program. He has served as a consultant in the planning of the Bath Community Rehab & Wellness Center and supervises the day-to-day operations of fitness/wellness center. Steve continues to use his physical therapy expertise in evaluating and treating outpatients as well as wellness clients.
Jonathan Eaton, PT, MPT, CEAS
Jonathan’s involvement in healthcare began while working with Division III athletes in the athletic training room in college. He went on to Old Dominion University earning his Master’s in Physical Therapy in 1999. Since that time, he has earned a certification as an Ergonomics Assessment Specialist and is currently working on a certification in Functional Orthopedics. Jonathan’s practice interventions are grounded in the current best evidence for physical therapy evaluation and treatment techniques. His primary focus is using multiple manual therapy techniques for obtaining functional outcomes.
Since joining the BCR&W team, Jonathan has been instrumental in developing the foot management and orthotic program.
Rhonda White, PT, MPT
Rhonda graduated from the University of Evansville in 1996 with a master’s in physical therapy. Rhonda has worked at Bath Community Hospital since 2000. She has specialized in training and teaching women with urinary incontinence as well as wound care. Rhonda enjoys working with patients of all ages, especially children. She provides physical therapy services to special needs children in the Bath and Highland School Districts as well as the home-based infant development program.
Cathy Singleton, PT
Cathy received her BS in physical therapy from the Medical College of Virginia in 1968 and was instrumental in organizing the Physical Therapy Department at Bath Community Hospital in 1971. She primarily provides physical therapy with hospital-based medical patients and specializes in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab.
Sheryl Lyle, PT
Sheryl received her BS in physical therapy from the Medical College of Virginia in 1983. She has worked at Bath Community Hospital since the spring of 2003 and specializes in Home Health Physical Therapy.
Physical Therapy Assistants:
Jim Brown, PTA
Jim Brown received his BS in Biology in 1987 from Shepherd College in West Virginia and his Physical Therapy Assistant associates degree in 1998 from the College of West Virginia, Beckley, West Virginia. Jim has been a member of the BCH physical therapy department since 2000. He finds his career as a PTA rewarding when he helps people recover from the injuries or illness, returning to a lifestyle at or above their previous level of performance. Jim is a triathlete and enjoys most outdoor activities such as swimming, bicycling, hiking and horseback riding. He is an avid gardener and enjoys reading in his spare time.
Fitness Instructors and Personal Trainers:
Candice Ailstock, CSBT, Exercise Technician
Candace is an exercise technician. As an exercise tech, she demonstrates the correct usage of weight machines, free weights, and other exercise techniques. She received her certification as a stability ball instructor through the American Fitness Professionals and Associates and is currently teaching group exercise classes utilizing stability balls. She also keeps things running smoothly in the BCR&W office.
Susan King, Exercise Technician, CFI
Susan is currently majoring in Natural Health at Clayton College of Natural Health. She received her fitness certification through the American Fitness Professionals and Associates. As a certified fitness instructor, Susan helps clients use the equipment safely and effectively and teaches group exercise classes. She loves working with clients to boost their confidence by teaching them exercise techniques and better nutrition. She is interested in becoming a nutritionist, specifically relating to sports.
Millie Williams, Health Care Assistant, Exercise Technician
Millie is a certified health care assistant and is CPR certified. She assists physical therapists in the care and treatment of patients, monitors wellness clients for correct form and modifying workouts as needed. Millie enjoys working with patients of all skill levels and ages from senior citizens to children. Millie empowers her clients to improve their quality of life and she enjoys seeing them succeed.
