Becky Armstrong Wins 2007 EMS Award

Hot Springs, VA – Bath Community Hospital is pleased to announce that Becky Armstrong, RN and community service director was awarded the 2007 Nurse with Outstanding Contribution to EMS by the Central Shenandoah Emergency Management Service Council (CSEMS). Becky is a native of Bath County and is on staff at Bath Community Hospital. She is responsible for infection control, employee health, utilization review and community outreach.

“Becky is a true friend to all the rescue squads in our service area,” says Perlista Henry, local Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate (EMT-I) and recipient of the 2004 Outstanding EMS Provider Award from the Council. “She is concerned with our health – she makes sure we get our annual vaccinations and helped us through a recent wellness program and includes in programs and educational opportunities offered by the hospital. She just does so much for the community in general.”

“Becky was instrumental in placing AED equipment, used to resuscitate a cardiac arrest victim, in area schools and recently became a Certified CPR instructor to help CPR educators,” Henry adds.

Becky is also involved with the local chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Valley Health Council, and is the county liaison for the Central Shenandoah Emergency Medical Services Council. She also represents Bath County on the Board of Zoning Appeals and is a member of Lifeline Ministries.
