Bath Community Hospital is a not-for-profit critical access hospital with a licensed capacity of 25 beds which include skilled nursing care beds. Services provided at the hospital include:

24 Hour Emergency Care -- The Emergency Department is a level III Emergency Department which is open with a nurse on duty 24 hours a day seven days a week and a physician or nurse practitioner (with physician back up) are on call at all times.

Active Medical Staff – Two family practitioners are available to see hospital inpatients, patients in the emergency department, and maintain private office practices. Two family nurse practitioners are also credentialed to provide patient care under the direct supervision of the physicians.

Nursing Service – All nursing care is provided under the direction of a physician by registered or licensed professional nurses who are licensed in the state of Virginia.

Surgery/Recovery Room/Anesthesia – The department is staffed by a RN Manager and a part time surgical technician, and other qualified RNs and LPNs are scheduled as needed.

Skilled Nursing Care – A full range of medical care is available. Doctors nurses, therapists, a dietician and social worker assess for patient needs and develop a plan of care to help each patient achieve the fullest recovery possible. Skilled nursing care offers medical support and therapy services to patients who no longer need acute hospital care, but are not yet ready to return home.

Social Services/Discharge Planning – The department is staffed with Social Service professionals and works with the hospital multi-disciplinary team to develop a plan that addresses needs after hospitalization.

Dietary – The dietary is charged with food preparation and service to patients, as well as staff and visitors when requested.

Radiology – The Radiology Department provides comprehensive imaging technology services for all inpatients and outpatients of all ages. Staffing is provided by four full and part-time technicians.

Pharmacy Services – The Pharmacy Department dispenses pharmaceuticals to patients as ordered by medical staff and in accordance with Federal and State of Virginia Regulations. Staffing is provided by two registered pharmacists and a pharmacy technician.

Rehabilitation Services – This department includes the functions of Physical Therapy, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Pulmonary Rehabilitation and supervised exercise. Services are provided to inpatients, skilled nursing patients and outpatients (including Home Health and Hospice patients) of all ages. Staffing is provided by licensed physical therapists, respiratory therapists, exercise technicians, physical therapy assistants, and aids.

Home Care Services (Home Health & Hospice) – The Community House Home Health Services and Hospice of the Highlands is a hospital based agency which provides services to the rural region surrounding Hot Springs, VA. Staffing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, certified nursing assistants and social workers.
